May 2nd: Be a Friend, Be a Mentor

Are you interested in helping other people? Maybe you just want to contribute a little something to the community. Become a mentor and welcome a youth into your daily routine. Participate in community activities together, play cards, go for a hike or teach them something new! Becoming a mentor is fun and it’s free, so there’s no reason to hesitate. We’ve all needed a friend or someone we could look to for guidance from time to time, now is your chance to return the favor and pay it forward. If you have any questions or need more information then visit the following website for details:

May 5th: KidsFEST

May is here and the weather is perfect to bring your children out for some food and activities this month! There will be something for all ages to be able to enjoy whether it be live entertainment, food, theater, dance performances or some family-friendly entertainment. Sit back and enjoy the entertainment while your child is getting their face painted or taking the time to learn martial arts! The cost of this event is free and open to the public and will be hosted in Downtown Haverhill. Be sure to put this one at the top of the list for you and your family this month!

May 5th: Free Fencing Class

Looking to learn a new skill or maybe to just try something out for that New Years Resolution you made? Head down to the Olympia Fencing Center if you’re interested in taking a fencing class. Introductory classes are free and without commitment, they also have memberships that start as little as $70 per month. This is a sport for all ages and of all skill levels! This is a reoccurring event that started April 2nd of 2016 and will occur weekly on Saturday and Sunday until July of 2019!
