It’s not unusual that families are busy with work, activities, children, and family obligations. That’s why it’s important to have a few healthy options that can be your go-to when your schedule is hectic but you want to give your family something nutritiously balanced.
The entire time that it takes to whip up this simple meal up is just about 15 minutes from prep time to ready-to-eat. Watch Phil’s Famous Recipe video for Blackened Fish Sandwich. Use the following ingredient list to make this fish dish that is both flavorful and nutritious.
- 4 oz of Cod ( Grouper or Snapper is also a good choice for a thicker, flakier option)
- ¼ C Organic Mayonnaise
- Pinch of Cilantro
- Pinch of Blackened Pepper
- Medium Pepperoncini Rings
- Sriracha Sauce
- Onion Rolls
- Chef Paul Prudhomme Seafood Seasoning
Begin your fish sandwich by mixing a bowl of the coleslaw that we gave the recipe for in an earlier video. Set that aside and allow it to marinade in the refrigerator while you prepare the rest of the meal.
Then start your remoulade sauce for the top of your fish sandwich. Mix a quarter cup of organic mayonnaise with cilantro (to your taste), black pepper, and a medium pepperoncini ring. This tends to have a bit of a vinegar kick so use your best judgement. Then, add a squeeze of lemon, usually half of a lemon will do so the sauce is about the consistency of tartar sauce, but much healthier. Put this aside while you begin the fish.
In a pan, begin searing your cod, grouper, or snapper. Season the fish with Seafood Magic by Chef Paul Prudhomme. While searing the fish, you may also want to grill an onion roll on the same pan allowing it to soak in some of the juices for extra flavor.
Once the fish is seared through and becomes flaky, you can start to assemble your sandwich. Place a bit of the coleslaw on the bun followed by the fish and then another helping of the slaw.
