The Phil Richard Insurance Community Outreach Team was established in early 2016. For us, Community Outreach means helping any way we can. Knowing the success of our business is dependent on the success of our friends on the North Shore—in Peabody, Danvers, and beyond, Community Outreach bonds us as a team giving us a greater purpose here at Phil Richard Insurance.

Besides event participation and ongoing fundraising, our office in Danvers, MA is a drop-off location for Survivor Basket donations.
Tough Warrior Princess assembles and delivers Survivor Baskets by request around the North Shore of Boston throughout the year. The demand for these baskets continues to rise, signaling to all of us that cancer is touching more and more families every day.

Citizen’s Inn & Haven From Hunger
Everyone deserves safety, dignity, and hope — to have shelter from the weather, heal when they are sick, and share meals in a place where they can grow and flourish as part of a community. For 34 years, Citizens Inn, Inc., now merged with Haven from Hunger, has worked toward ending homelessness and hunger across the North Shore. Our mission calls us to support everyone with dignity and respect, as they live in our emergency shelter, Citizens Inn Between; our sober living transitional housing shelter, Citizens Inn Transition; our affordable housing units, Citizens Inn Homes; or join us for meals as part of our Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger program. Through our work, we not only provide a safe place to stay and a meal on the table, but offer tools to empower families and individuals to find permanent solutions to break the patterns of instability in their lives.

Ellis Square Friends
This group was created with the intention of helping our less fortunate neighbors. Most of the people we help are the homeless population who assemble at Ellis Square. However, there are a few other people who benefit from our assistance as well. People who have extremely limited means, with whom we share surplus items. Our mission is to provide clothing, food, and whatever resources we can to help these people survive, and in some instances get off the streets.
We need volunteers to help with the setup, serving and break down of our community meals. We also need help with receiving, sorting and putting out donations; sorting through trash, recycling, and compost; and cleaning up of the fellowship hall after the dinner.

The goal of the Northeast Arc is to ensure that children and adults with disabilities are able to live, work, engage in civic life and play in the community. We work toward that goal by offering a wide variety of programs including Autism Services, Day Habilitation, Deaf Services, Early Intervention, Employment Services, Family Support, Personal Care Assistance, Recreation, Residential and School to Work Transition Services.We employ people with disabilities at our inclusive businesses: Breaking Grounds Café, Heritage Caning, Heritage Shredding and Shine Jewelry.

Beantown Blankets started off as a class project, but Maxwell Perry was in it for more than a grade.
In January 2016, the Babson College student hit the ground running during his freshman year Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship course. The class of 40 students broke into three groups to launch their own businesses with the school providing seed money. Perry was his group’s CEO.
Before stepping foot on the Wellesley campus, Perry sat down at the dinner table with his mom and brainstormed business ideas that he could use. “She had always shown compassion for those in need growing up, and said that more than anything, she wanted to give out blankets with a waterproof side.”
Inspired, Perry came up with Beantown Blankets, an organization that donates one blanket to a homeless individual or shelter for every blanket sold. The uniquely designed blankets have soft fleece on one side and waterproof material on the other, making them both comfortable and functional for outdoor use.

Progeria Research Foundation
MISSION: To discover treatments and the cure for Progeria and its aging-related disorders, including heart disease.
Progeria is a rare, fatal, “rapid aging” disease. Without the discovery of new treatments, all children with Progeria will die of heart disease at an average age of 14 years. The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) was founded in 1999 in response to the complete lack of progress being made to help children with Progeria. Our original mission: to discover the cause, treatments and cure for Progeria.* Today, PRF continues to be the only organization in the world solely dedicated to this mission. We have filled a void, taking these children out of the background where they had been for over 100 years and putting them and Progeria at the forefront of scientific efforts.

The MISSION: Miranda’s Hearth is a certified 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to build a community through creativity that is approachable, affordable, and accessible.
In the long-term, Miranda’s Hearth plans to create the first community art hotel where everything from the food to the furniture is handmade by local artists.
